Specialist Notes
With an original line, the Sprite (aka “Frog Eye” or, retrospectively, Mk I), launched in 1958, was a spartan little roadster. Cheap and light, it was a success and, in 1959, the House mitigated its spartan nature: handles, bumpers and side windows appeared. This example was finished on 6 September 1960 and destined for export, in LHD version. The car was shipped that same month to Peru, where it then lived. In 2016, it was first imported to the UK and finally registered in Italy in September 2022: it has up-to-date number plates and documents and CRS ASI. The car has undergone a restoration, not recent but of high quality; the mechanics have instead been recently revised. Interior is preserved, new tyres. It's fully functional. The vibrant Cherry Red exterior/interior livery contrasts wonderfully with the cream hardtop. The car is believed to have had very low mileage for its age.
