L'opera, en pendant con quella al lotto successivo, rientra nella produzione di raffinate tempere su pergamena, raffiguranti Nature morte, eseguite da Octavianus Monfort. Pressoché nulle sono le informazioni biografiche sull'artista che non figura menzionato in alcuna fonte dell'epoca e che risulta documentato solamente dalle sue stesse opere che, in alcuni rari casi, recano la firma e la data, permettendo così alla critica di collocare l'attività del pittore negli anni Ottanta del Seicento.

L'opera, en pendant con quella al lotto successivo, rientra nella produzione di raffinate tempere su pergamena, raffiguranti Nature morte, eseguite da Octavianus Monfort. Pressoché nulle sono le informazioni biografiche sull'artista che non figura menzionato in alcuna fonte dell'epoca e che risulta documentato solamente dalle sue stesse opere che, in alcuni rari casi, recano la firma e la data, permettendo così alla critica di collocare l'attività del pittore negli anni Ottanta del Seicento.
Le due opere qui all'incanto (lotti 7 e 8) si pongono, quindi, come preziose aggiunte all'interno del corpus pittorico del Monfort, il cui repertorio si incentra sull'esecuzione di composizioni di frutta, fiori e verdure in tazze di ceramica bianca e blu o rame sbalzato, la cui resa mimetica è spesso sorprendente, come nel lotto 7 qui presentato.
