Original illustration made by Boccasile for Novella VI of Day VII of "The Decameron" by Giovanni Boccaccio, published for the first time by Ed. d'Arte à la Chance du Bibliophile in 1955. Among the most famous works by Boccasile, which he was unable to finish due to his premature death in 1952, the publisher entrusted the missing plates to Rino Albertarelli, Giulio Bertoletti, Giorgio De Gasperi and Walter Molino. The theme of the seventh day of the Decameron is dedicated to the wives' pranks on their husbands. The irresistible force of amorous impulses pushes these crafty women to have an adventure with their lover, and then to invent a story to hide the incident from the foolish husband. Slight creases at the corners, slight abrasions at the edges. Very rare.
