Venice, & nbsp; A. Brucioli, 1546, and in the colophon 1545. In 2 °. Typographical mark on the title page colored in ancient times, and also at the end, figured small letters, text arranged on 2 columns, some gora, spots, binding in modern parchment.
Specialist Notes
Rare edition of this lexicon dedicated to Cosimio de 'Medici. Brucioli gave himself to this enterprise in an attempt to be recalled to Florence after he had been exiled from it in 1522. It was Arlenius who was called to Florence instead, & nbsp; where he worked in the service of Torrentino. It is known that in the period immediately following the printing of the Lexicon, the Brucioli printing house was involved in the accusation of clandestine printing & nbsp; of heretical works by Francesco Negri, Alfonso Valdes and Bernardino Occhino.
