Venice, Gio. Antonio Pezzana, 1791. In 8 °. Woodblock mark on the title page, headboard and xylographic initial, blooms, missing a2-6, several burnished papers, paperback, some slight halo and small tears.

Specialist Notes

Jean-Baptiste de La Chapelle (1710 - 1792) was an eclectic character: priest, scientist, encyclopedist and inventor. Elected a member of the Royal Society of London in 1747, he is known, among other things, for having designed the diving suit in 1775. & nbsp;
