Original cover made by Battaglia for the Messaggero dei Ragazzi n. 18 of 1974. Battaglia's love for his hometown shines through in this work dedicated to the lagoon city while also being able to recognize its merits and its defects: << There are places that I particularly love but they belong to the past: they are dark, crumbling, forgotten. They are slightly smelly places with stagnant water where the buildings are bulging, slowly descending. (...) when I arrive in Venice I change my attitude, my way of moving, of thinking... it is so important that I cannot describe it, there are so many hidden things that do not want to come out. >> Slight crease on the right margin. Watercolored on the back.
